Perhaps the city could start some kind of "block-building" program in which a household on each block (or other geographic designation, like making sub-wards) volunteers as the block leader and hosts a regular get-together at their house for all neighbors on that block/area. Instead of attracting residents with only particular interests or characteristics, these events would simply cover all residents in a certain geographic area and hopefully span across many dimensions of diversity.

One thing would be if there were better pedestrian access across Queens Chapel road (e.g. more lights). As it is I see people waiting a very long time crossing that road, which is effectively a highway, even hanging out in the median area. The road serves as a barrier between neighborhoods.
I'd also like to see more new development in the "downtown Hyattsville" area--everything seems to focus on the arts district or the PG Plaza Mall area.

Safer pedestrian access to metro station. There is only one place to cross Ager that has a stoplight and crosswalk.

A YMCA or other type of recreation center could bring us closer together. The Prince George's Plaza Community Center isn't well staffed or particularly welcoming.

how about adding in a city wide tributary wall where residence can attach a permanent art piece that describes themselves or what it's like to live here -something added that describes how they perceive themselves and how they want others to perceive them it can be like a wallboard along pathways - gives people ideas about who their neighbors are, outside for something interesting to do and perhaps socialize also can add an online board for discussions like evening talks within Hyattsville
