Tuesday/Martes, Nov. 1, 7 p.m., Felegy Elementary - 6110 Editors Park Drive

Saturday/Sabado, Nov. 5, 10 a.m., City Building - 4310 Gallatin Street

En preparacion para los proximas talleres comunitarias, estamos pidiendo retroalimentacion en unos asuntos. Gracias por compartir sus opiniones abajo. Tambien, acompañenos en los talleres en que la comunidad prioritizara estos asuntos y mas.

"Dinner and a movie" is getting old... because there are only so many dining options and movies generally aren't as fun as live music. So... more dining and at least one good night-time option for LIVE music please.

good music, good food and good company - good company we already have - more coices in food w, parking and a musical venue we need. A community theater venue would be great as well.

A coffee shop/ gathering place a la Vigilante, but open evenings. Coffeehouses in the Northwest are commonly open in the evenings; here, not so much.

P.S. they often host small musical events as well.

A lot of us living in Hyattsville have small houses - it would be so cool if there was a venue with a bar and/or stage that could be rented out for parties and other gatherings.

Good food, good wine, good entertainment. Always happy to see more decent restaurants open up, and I second the wish for places like Vigilante to be open much later. I would love to see a high quality wine bar open in Hyattsville, and maybe a community theater?

  1. Small bar options on the Baltimore Ave. strip. Franklins and Busboys are so big, have a family vibe, etc. A small bar (could be a dive bar, could be a wine bar, more about the size/atmosphere) would be great.
  2. More locally-owned, non-chain dining options (aka NOT a Subway).
  3. A vibrant walking street that's full of options (shopping, dining, drinking, entertainment), as opposed to the abandoned strip we have now.

A performing arts space -- a small theater. For live music, community theater and kids' performances.

I've always thought a "Beer Garden" would do so well in Hyattsville, an outdoor venue with picnic tables and room to roam around. Could be used for events when needed.

Live music, black box theater, a coffee house that stays open late, a space for more adult classes in the arts, a Cinema-and-Draft house where you can have a drink and watch a film.

A theater! Doesn't have to be large. But something that a small professional company could use and not be embarrassed (i.e., better than a school auditorium).

Moderately-priced, decent restaurant options with desert menus would be nice.

Coffee shop/deli.

All ideally Metro-accessible (West Hyattsville!) or accessible from a Metro with decent bus routes that don't shut down early and only run every 45 minutes.

A live performance/music/theater event OR a great independent or foreign film (Idea: can we PLEASE get the Regal theater folks to dedicate just 1 of their 14 screens to showing smaller, independent or foreign films???); a good or great meal; pleasant walk.

While I understand that the community is very kid centric (young children and college students), it would be great to have more options for singles and those without kids. Right now Busboys is the catch all (performance space, adult vibe/food options). It would be great to have a some other bar options- a few upscale, a few neighborhood/sports bars. Pub quiz and happy hours would draw residents back home after work. An HVL diner would also be great. We currently frequent silver diner in GB since there aren't any options in HVL that we're aware of. Also, if there's a way to highlight offsite parking options, that would be great. We often park in the offsite pay lots and find them to be relatively empty.
