Hi-I don't oppose the entire concept but want to comment. I've resided in Historic Hyattsville since 1975. To develop areas for sitting and perhaps performance would be pleasant. However there must be plans to maintain the space. Lighting should be environmentally sustainable and NOT light up the entire night sky. Trees and shrubs should be more in line with native plantings (there are MANY good choices!) rather than common non-native nursery stock- PLEASE! there's more in another submit.

I like the playfulness of the first design, not sure I understand the second design, The design does not seem to really think about how older residents would use the expanded park. For example, the tree stump seating which I think is cool - is also impossible for anyone with a balance issue. no backs, no arms, probably too low. Also are there quieter spaces for such residents to sit? Right now there is just one bench as I recall at the playground and a long walk to get to it.
