The Mayor and City Council will hold a public hearing on proposed Hyattsville Charter Amendment Resolution 2016-01, a Resolution amending the City Charter to change the qualifications for registering as a voter in City elections so that being a citizen of the United States is no longer a requirement. The resolution further allows for same day registration of voters in City elections which will be effective on or before January 1, 2019. The Public Hearing will be held at the City Municipal Building, 4310 Gallatin Street, in the third floor Council Chambers. The Public Hearing will be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 71, Verizon Channel 12 and online at www.hyattsville.org.
